New partners shall start serving Debevoise & Plimpton LLP effective July 1, 2016. These new partners are Patrick Taylor, Thomas Smith, Sarah Coyne, David L. Portilla, Ina C. Uri Herzberg received a J.D from the esteemed University of Pennsylvania Law School. Uri is also an alumnus of Yeshiva University, where he graduated with B.A., cum laude. He also attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he received a certificate in business and public policy. Uri joined the law firm in 2007 and is based in the New York office. He is a member of the private equity group, the corporate department and the mergers and acquisition.
Sarah Coyne earned her J.D. from the New York University School of Law. She also attended Georgetown University where she graduated with the highest honors in B.A. Sarah works in the litigation department as well as the white collar and regulatory defense group. For 14 years, she served as a federal prosecutor. Sarah joined the firm in 2015 and works in the New York office.
David L. Portilla is experienced in advising both domestic and international banking organizations as well as different financial institutions on matters of governance, transactions and regulations. David earned his J.D., with highest honors, from Rutgers School of Law. His name is inducted in the Order of the Coif. In 2002, David graduated with a B.A. from Rutgers University.
Ina C. Popova specializes in public international law, intricate commercial litigation and international arbitration. She has been handling multibillion-dollar disputes regarding public international law, environmental and commercial matters in different jurisdictions. She is admitted to the New York and Paris Bars. Ina is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, Universite de Paris II Pantheon-Assas and Harvard Law School.
David Sarrat has broad experience in intricate civil litigation, white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations. The trial lawyer has argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals. David attended the University of Virginia School of Law where he received his J.D. and graduated Order of the Coif. He also graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
Patrick Taylor has extensive experience in matters of complicated commercial and investment treaty mediation. He acts for commercial and sovereign clients in different sectors, especially in the energy, telecommunication, joint venture as well as oil and gas. Patrick graduated from Cambridge University with LL.B. law degree. In 2005, he was admitted as a solicitor in Wales and England. Over the years, he has acted in arbitration under the terms of LCIA, ICC, ICSID, SCC, Milan Chamber of Arbitration, UNCITRAL and the Nigerian Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
